| Adopting a Dachshund |
- All potential adopters are required to fill out an Adoption
Application. Our Adoption Application will help us get to
know you and your situation and lifestyle. This will help us
determine if one of our dogs is right for you. If you are
interested in filling out an application please email us at
braveheartdogs@sbcglobal.net to request an application.
- If you see a dog on the website or on petfinder that you are
interested in, simply contact the foster home and let them
know that you are interested. You will be required to fill out
an adoption application and if the foster determines that
you may be a good match for the dog, you will be invited to
come and meet the dog.
- Applying for a dog does not guarantee you will be chosen
to adopt a dog. It is simply the first step in the process.
Please only apply and set up an appointment if you are
serious about adopting a dog and intend to follow through.
We will not hold or save dogs for anyone. If an applicant
cannot arrange to meet a dog in a timely manner another
applicant will be invited to interview for the dog.
- Anyone wanting to adopt a dog must apply themselves.
We do not place dogs as gifts and we do not place dogs
with someone other than the potential new owner.
- All adopters are required to sign our Adoption Agreement.
Our Adoption Agreement is a legal contract that protects
the adopter, the rescue program and the Dachshunds.
- All adopters will be required to pay an adoption fee.
- Please understand that our program is run by volunteers.
We will do our best to get back to you as quickly as
possible.
- Adoption Fees
These are the basic adoption fees however they may
sometimes change depending on specifics that we have
done for each dog.
Puppies (1 year and under) $250
Adults (1 to 7 years) $200
Seniors and Older Adults (8 years and older) $100
- All of our dachshunds are spayed or neutered and
vaccinated prior to being placed in their new homes
